DERIVATIVE BREED OF SIAMESE OR HAVING THE SAME ORIGIN
THE « MODERN » SIAMESE : THE SHOW-STYLE SIAMESE
A look long-limbed, tubular and fine, the Siamese has very large ears, the right muzzle longest as possible, a fine and long tail, eyes in form of almond (Eastern form)............. This Siamese is the fruit of an human transformation, by selection of the tubular elements, marriage and remarriage (and consanguinity), and other handling (in the direction of human selection). The positive point is that legendary strabism and the tied tail of the specimens practically disappeared. The negative point: this cat, modified anatomically, enjoys a health more fragile than its ancestors and has a less life expectancy.
THE BALINAISE
Or in other words: "Siamese with long hairs".
In certain litters of Siamese, appeared kittens with long hairs. Genetic change or handling of the man : it is a mystery. The Siamese ones were selected while marrying the "point" (or more probably of the tonkinois, or mink) with English domestic cats. However the genes long hairs, like dilution, are frequent in these populations! Therefore, they are appeared naturally at the Siamese of the time (and also, amongst other things, at the abyssins!). The goal was initially to diversify the colors of the Siamese.
THE ORIENTAL (FOREIGN SHORTHAIR)
Originating in Siam, but different from Siamese only by the color of peeling and the eyes. They are the Siamese without "point". In order to diversify the colors of Eastern, we marry the Siamese one with American shorthair and others. About the years 1970, a modification of the morphological type appears going towards the extreme, following the evolution of the Siamese cat.
THE MANDARIN (or JAVANESE )
Mandarin is an Oriental with long hairs. It is the fruit of the marriage between the Balinese and the Eastern one.
THE MARRIAGES WITH THE SIAMESE
All the cats having a dress " POINT " have more or less remote Siamese ancestor.
THE BIRMAN
Il est le fruit du mariage entre un siamois « ganté » de blanc et un persan. C’est donc un chat colour point à poils mi-longs, ayant la particularité d’un gantage blanc sur les quatre pattes.It is the fruit of the marriage between Siamese "gloved" of white and Persan. It is thus a cat colour point with semi-long hairs, having the characteristic of a white glove on the four legs.

THE HAVANA BROWN
Originating in Siam, but excessively rare. It was recreated by breeders about the years 1950, by a crossing between a Siamese seal point and a british shorthair black. At the beginning, it was rather hazel nut, the current individuals are of brown dark.
THE HIMALAYAN ou PERSAN COLOUR POINT
It is said that the first crossing would have been between a longhair white and Siamese then sophisticated in the years 1930, in England and in the United States, by crossing Siamese and Persan smock, tabby silver and black.
THE KORAT
Originating in the South-East Asia, it does not have Siamese blood. However, it would be at the origin of the color "blue point " at the Siamese one. The Siamese had only one color at the origin : the "seal point ". (on standby of additional checks)
THE OCICAT
It is the result of a marriage between Siamese and an abyssin. Thus we can obtain ocicats basicly black, chocolates or cinnamon.
THE PETERBALD
It is the result of a marriage between Siamese/Oriental and a sphynx, and or a don sphynx (cat of Russia).
THE RAGDOLL
Chat colour point à fourrure mi-longue, fit son apparition dans les années 1960. THE SERENGETI
It is the result of a marriage between Siamese or Oriental and a bengal.
Attention, the Serengeti point is not recognized yet. It is necessary to select very well the Oriental so as not to give the point of Siamese (see the lines of Oriental).
THE SNOWSHOE
The snowshoe is the result of an union between a siamese and an American shorthair and pobrably with birman.
THE TONKINESE
En fait, il est probable que les tonkinois aient été les premiers importés. On parlais d'ailleurs de "siamois dorés". Il est le fruit du mariage entre un siamois et un burmèse. Le tonkinois existe aussi en version poils longs, il s’appelle alors le Tibétain.In fact, it is probable that the tonkinese were the first import. One spoke besides the "Golden Siamese". It is the fruit of the marriage between Siamese and a burmese. The tonkinese also exists in version long hairs, there is called then the Tibetan.
THE COLOUR POINT SHORTHAIR
Any inopportune crossing with Siamese is included in this category. The colour point determines the blue eyes of the Siamese. Because, ALL the color point have the blue eyes, it is related to gene point Cs.
Among the various breeds which were married with the Siamese in order to obtain an owner colour point, there are : the british, the bengal, the exotic, the peterbald, the Persan, the scottish fold, the sphynx, and a lot of others.......... (nonexhaustive list).
